Започвам с най-разкошното нещо на тема Star Wars, което ми е попадало за тази година - Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith - The Essential Guide to the Force.

+ Голям формат, над 230 страници.
+ Над 100 илюстрации, вариращи от доста добри (понякога) до прекрасни (в повечето случаи).
+ Много подробна информация за всичко свързано със Силата - естество, предмети, школи, събития, същества, персонажи, свръхспособности.
+ Информацията е много актуална и обхваща периода от 100 000 години B.B.Y. (before the battle of Yavin) до година 40 A.B.Y. (after the battle of Yavin).

- Няма издание с твърди корици.

Засега Но ако имат успех (а ревютата на първата са доста високи - втората излиза тия дни), вероятно ще има и други. Това ако говориш за двете книги за Дарт Бейн, де.

Иначе непосредствено преди Епизод 1 има прикуъл Cloak of Deception от James Luceno, в който прекрасно се описва заговора на Палпатин, за да очерни канцлера Валорум и в крайна сметка да вземе мястото му, мамейки джедаите през цялото време. Красота.

Като ще си мерим хардкурове аз успях да изчета около 80-90% от комиксите и почти всички книги издавани на български!

Изчетох комиксите Star Wars KOTOR TPB 1&2, Tales of the Jedi Omnibus 1, Legacy TPB 1.

Котора и Легасито са страхотни и като история, и като арт.

Тейлс ъф дъ Джедай е интересна само за маниаци на тема древна Стар Уорс история. Детински историйки писани от Кевин Дж. Андерсън, а артът е по-зле от този на Lucifer. Да, оказа се възможно. По-зле от него е само артът на SW: Dark Empire.


Също прочетох последната част от New Jedi Order - The Unifying Force от Джеймс Лусено, един от добрите писатели в SWEU. Чудесен завършек на поредицата NJO и затрогващ финал доста в тона на филмите.

Понеже навремето толкова се впечатлявах от тия неща, а и винаги съм се вълнувал от вселената на "Междузвездни войни", мисля да си го взема това чудо.

Между другото, ако това е мястото за обсъждане на всякакви книги от вселената на "Междузвездни войни", държа да спомена любимата си поредица - Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, преведена от Егмонт като "Ученик на джедая" в среднодалечното минало и издадена донякъде и на български.

Не знам дали е заради възрастта, на която изгълтах поредицата, или по някаква друга причина, но заедно с Jedi Quest от същата авторка това и досега са книгите от Стар Варс, на които съм се кефил най-много (изключая двете за Дарт Бейн може би). Балсам за душичките на по-върлите гийкове, защото Уотсън навлиза в изключителни детайли, като описва Силата и джедайския орден, и, поне според мен, обяснява концепцията за джедаите по-добре от всички други писатели, занимавали се с това - чак ме накара да се дразня на повърхностните обяснения във филмите.

Колко пари искаш за тази книжка???

Ако въпросът е към мен и се отнася до Essential Guide to the Force - не я продавам. Най-добре си я поръчай от Амазона. С таксата за артикул би ти излязла 20 и няколко долара. Това при поръчка на няколко неща. Иначе ако поръчаш само нея трябва да добавиш около 6 долара за пратката и стават към 30.

От Разширената вселена освен SW-комвиксите, издадени от АртЛайн, особено обичам книгите от поредицата "Ученик на Джедая". Lubimetz13, аз също я изгълтах за нула време като теб. Детството на Оби-Уан е описано по чудесен начин, всичките истории са страхотни, яд ме е, че така и не я доиздадоха. Иначе, книгите на Тери Брукс също ми харесват, макар и да не съм изчела много от тях.
За съжаление не продължих "Ученик на Джедая" в нета, защото английският ми е мнтого слаб. И това все повече ми пречи, а все не ми остава време за това.

Захванах Star Wars on Trial - Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Debate the Most Popular Science Fiction Films of All Time.

Книгата е оформена като съдебен процес, съдията е дроид. Обвинението се ръководи от Дейвид Брин, а защитата от Матю Стоувър (автор на книгата по Епизод 3 плюс още две книги от Star Wars Expanded Universe: Shatterpoint и Traitor - и трите според мен са сред най-доброто от книгите по сагата). И двамата призовават свидетели в своя подкрепа.

Обвиненията са в осем точки:
1. The politics of Star Wars are anti-democratic and elitist.
2. While claiming mythic significance, Star Wars portrays no admirable religious or ethical beliefs.
3. Star Wars novels are poor substitutes for real science fiction ans are driving real SF off the shelves.
4. Science Fiction filmmaking has been reduced by Star Wars to poorly written special effects extravaganzas.
5. Star Wars has dumbed down the perception of Science Fiction in the popular imagination.
6. Star Wars pretends to be Science Fiction, but is really Fantasy. (This one should ring a bell here )
7. Women in Star Wars are portrayed as fundamentally weak.
8. The plot holes and logical gaps in Star Wars make it ill-suited for an intelligent viewer.

Статиите са написани страшно приятно и хумористично. Авторите си правят ташак със себе си и със сагата, персонажите и сюжета. Най-много до момента (на третото "обвинение" съм) са нахранени джедаите, по-специално Йода.

Обаче екипът на обвинението запазва уважението си към Джордж Лукас като създател на Star Wars вселената. Включително главният обвинител Дейвид Брин, който прави голямо евала на Лукас във встъпителната си реч:

"Despite my grouchy grumblings about what could have been, the fact is that George Lucas delivered a mainline feed of fantastic imagery and almost-pure joy, straight through the eyes, ears and optic nerves of about a billion people. That's a lot more than I have ever reached. It merits respect. The genuine kind, directed towards somebody who has used his talents to make a difference, and had fun doing it, too.
Besides, hey, the man hired and subsidized maybe 10% of the greatest and most groundbreaking technical artists of our age, pushing forward dozens of wondrous new visualization technologies and opening doors for other creators in this wondrously free and open civilization.
Yes, I have complaints about plot and character and deeper meaning. But, as I said in the beginning, fortunately, most people just don't care about any of that! We, here, reading (and writing) this book, are among the few who do. Moreover, if we are all lucky, then the "messages" in Star Wars will never matter anywhere near as much as the pure and simple joy.
And yes, my kids cut in at one point, crystallizing this wisdom.
'Cut him some slack, Dad. The lightsabers are cool.'"

Според мен книгата е изключително увлекателна и за суперфенове на сагата, и за хора, които са умерени към нея, и дори за хейтъри. Всеки намира някакви интересни аргументи.
